Your table is waiting!
Fortunate I have been to have had the opportunity to visit restaurants in several states. And it is interesting to note that — as I have pointed out in my annual review of the top restaurants for the year — whether there are regional or local differences in menus, decor, venue type or location, there are always four main attributes that will allow a particular restaurant to either stand out or slump below the others: food quality, plating/plate presentation, service and distractions (excessive noise level, sloppily attired or non-attentive wait staff, etc). Unfortunately, multiple visits are not usually possible before a review is written; it’s more often than not a one-time shot at an experience that can be really awesome or simply awful… rp
Reviews can be found by geographic location, restaurant rating and soon will be categorized by type of cuisine and year published. My most recent reviews can be found in the Featured section of the side bar on the right side of the page (desktops.)
In my career are twenty-five-plus years learning the restaurant business – from top to bottom – and six years in a Midwest university learning and polishing my writing skills. I have spent a good number of those years (just how many yet to be determined) on the road and authored well over 150 reviews & articles – and still counting.
I’ve traveled from Maine to Florida, from Boston to San Francisco, from Seattle to San Diego, and from Dallas to way north of Duluth, sampling and writing about food. And Yes, I love restaurants, I love preparing, writing about, and eating, food. I hope you enjoy reading what I have written!
