Restaurant News & Events:

Around the Fox Valley                Beyond the Fox Valley

If you're a business owner, here's a snippet in a recent e-mail from my friends at On the fox that you should take advantage of: "On the Fox is offering you the first six months of a Basic Listing at no cost... period. All you have to do is sign up.  OK... so I'm usually like the short guy in the storm - the last one to know when the rain is falling (rim-shot)...  However, since I know, I thought you should too.  What are you waiting for??!! Pick of the month...

  • Pub 222 on Main Street in St. Charles

Great food and "easily one of the most affordable meals around..."

What's the Buzz...              (back to top)

The 2008 Year In Review is now available!

As of Tuesday March 24th...

As of Monday February 2nd...

As of Friday Jan 16th...

  • You probably already know about it but... Dimitri's Mediterranean Grill has gone the way of so many other restaurants.  I think it's too bad, as I really enjoyed the place and I am hopeful that I will see Chef Dimitri again... SOON!

  • Now taking Dimitri's place is Odyssey Greek Taverna - also serving Greek fare.  I wish them the best!

As of Tuesday Nov 11th...

  • Changed once again... 18 North in St. Charles has now become Onesti Dinner Club, featuring "upscale American fare, steaks, fresh seafood, amazing pasta selections and incredible desserts..."

As of Thursday April 10th...

  • I just got a call telling me that purchases had been made in another state using my credit card... The number had apparently had been stolen -- odd, since I still had possession of my card.  Just goes to show that one cannot be too careful!  I never have used it online -- only in restaurants.  So for those who have ever questioned where card theft takes place, the answer is that it can happen anywhere.  Do you trust the waiter/waitress who takes your card away from the table to run it... more or less than the company who requests the same information through a secure server online?  Personally I'm not sure if I ever want my card to leave my sight ever again, especially in a restaurant!!
